Review: Delightful friends - Utterly delightful. I bought them for myself because I needed things to fidget with while working at home. They make quite a bit of noise, so definitely an at-home fidget and not a "taking out in public" fidget, but the noise is really quite pleasant. (The cup shape of the hard plastic causes the sound of moving them around to project well, almost like a percussion instrument!) They are lovely to hold and wiggle around. The plastic is nice and substantial, so they have a good heft, and they've got just the right amount of flexibility and movement. One of the slugs did have a rough/scratched part at the seam around the edge of one of the segments. I'm not knocking any points off of my rating for that, because you sort of expect a plastic flaw or two with inexpensive plastic items, and I think it will be fine with some sanding. Just thought I'd point that out because a lot of parents buy these for their kids, and I figure it'd be a good idea to check them over for any rough areas before giving them to a young child. They're modular, so you could even just remove a problem segment. It's not easy to pull the segments apart. I would still be careful with VERY small children because the segments at the end are potentially small enough to be a choking hazard, but they're certainly not going to be coming apart accidentally. (A determined child could get them apart, though.) An adult could still easily take them apart and clean them, which is useful for a kid's toy, since children are rather notorious for getting sticky substances into nooks and crannies of things. The colors are true to the ones shown in the pictures. I got the set of a green, a blue, and a pastel rainbow one, and the images in the listing are very accurate. Utterly delightful. I bought them for myself because I needed things to fidget with while working at home. They make quite a bit of noise, so definitely an at-home fidget and not a "taking out in public" fidget, but the noise is really quite pleasant. (The cup shape of the hard plastic causes the sound of moving them around to project well, almost like a percussion instrument!) They are lovely to hold and wiggle around. The plastic is nice and substantial, so they have a good heft, and they've got just the right amount of flexibility and movement. One of the slugs did have a rough/scratched part at the seam around the edge of one of the segments. I'm not knocking any points off of my rating for that, because you sort of expect a plastic flaw or two with inexpensive plastic items, and I think it will be fine with some sanding. Just thought I'd point that out because a lot of parents buy these for their kids, and I figure it'd be a good idea to check them over for any rough areas before giving them to a young child.
