It works equally well with each, keeping the tea at a good temperature until I’ve finished the pot. The tea light candle is very easy to put in its holder & the holder is very easy to insert into the warmer. The warmer does not get excessively hot (just warm to the touch) & cools quickly after the candle is snuffed.
