I used it to cut a slight taper on the inside of table legs. (5 to 10 degrees) That curved piece you see is attached to both pieces and limits your angle. **Q: how does it attach to table saw?** A: It does not faxten to the saw. It is used between the fence and the blade and slides into the blade along with the material to be cut at an angle. There are many videos online showing the use of a table saw taper jig. http://www.newwoodworker.com/basic/vtusetaperjig.html **Q: can you taper a 37" board with this jig?** A: Haven’t used it yet.
