It's really meant to polish metal and steel, and remove microscopic amounts of metal each time it's used. Are your rims anodized, plated aluminum? It'll probably strip that off...eventually. Months of use, years of use? Depends on pressure used, amount, etc. Are your rims painted with black paint? It'll probably strip that off.
