It reflects heat back into the room and noticeably reduces cold air coming through the glass. The material is thicker and more durable than typical plastic window film, and it cuts cleanly with scissors. Installation is straightforward with tape or adhesive strips, and it stays in place once mounted. It does slightly reduce visibility since it is reflective, but that is expected and worth the tradeoff for the insulation benefit. Great option for winter use, apartments, or older homes where replacing windows is not realistic. Solid value for the price and does exactly what it claims.

I used this to insulate an outdoor kitty's house. I like that is a lot thinner than cardboard and all the info I find online says this is warmer than cardboard. I love that it comes with plenty of aluminum tape. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that unlike the photos in the ad, it comes folded, not rolled and the creases make it more difficult to work with. For reference, I bought the 48 inches by 10 feet.
