## Description
Finding out that your dog has a urinary condition can be distressing, as these can be emergencies or recurrent and unpleasant for your dog.
Some dogs develop stones in their bladder. The reason why is complex and not always fully understood. Bladder stones are painful, can cause bleeding and blockages, preventing your dog passing urine.
The two most common types of bladder stones in dogs are called struvite and calcium oxalate. In most cases of struvite stones, a bacterial infection is involved, which requires antibiotics, however the stones also need to be removed.
Urinary stones can be either surgically removed or dissolved by feeding a formulated diet such as Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Canine UR Urinary.

My dog regularly got crystals in her bladder my vet recommended Hills urinary care dry food and apple cider vinegar capsulesit was nearly £ 80 a bag and saw little difference over 6 months , this food however has worked wonders along side her apple cider vinegar caps been on it 5 months now and touch wood not been back to the vet apart from urine tests which are clearVery happy Mum and dog highly recommend

My vet recommended this for my dog with early stage kidney disease, so I bought it for that reason rather than just as a normal dry food.The main thing I wanted was something suitable for her needs, but also something she would actually eat. There is absolutely no point buying a specialist food if the dog looks at you as if you’ve personally betrayed them. Thankfully, my dogs seem to enjoy this and eat it without any fuss.The kibble is easy enough to serve, the bag size is practical, and it feels like a good option when you need a veterinary diet rather than just a standard food. I can’t comment on long-term medical results yet, and obviously I’d always follow a vet’s advice with kidney or urinary issues, but from a day-to-day feeding point of view it has been straightforward.Specialist diets are never the most exciting purchase, but this has been a good one for us. Vet recommended, accepted happily by the dogs, and much easier than trying to persuade a fussy animal to eat something “good for them”.
