It would wake occupying residents as night - yes - but as a property alarm for use when out, pointless. This is less a home security device than animal scarer. Furthermore it's too loud to use outdoors at night around neighbours. What it needs to be able to do is allow use indoors via a discrete sensor at an entrance, which sets the barking off if movement is detected.
