I secured the guy wires temporarily to nearby trees, waded with the unit into 4' water, then waded back to shore to move the wires to different trees to adjust the position. I didn't use a boat, just waded in creek shoes and jeans. IMPORTANT NOTE: the bottom was muddier and thicker than I anticipated, and if you lose your balance because your weight shifts and you can't move your feet quick enough to maintain your balance in the muck, YOU WILL DROWN IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING TO HANG ON TO. It's a matter of the water being too deep for you to push up from the bottom with your arms.
