It's very heavy and well built unit, I haven't given it too much to do just yet, I just allowed it to take off small mm at a time on multiple passes untill i see what its capable of. I planed some pallet boards for a project and it was easy enough to use and they came up well. It's very important to remove all staples or nails first from the wood, you don't want the blades to hit them. If I'm looking for a few improvements, it would have been nice with a soft motor start, it can be a bit shocking when it's first started. Secondly the marker and ruler that shows you how thick the board will end up - the ruler sits about 1cm behind the plexi glass red mark indicator, maybe this is so you can wipe dust off it, but it means unless u are looking directly at it you will have a bit of trouble lining up the indicator with the ruler. There seems to have been a retro fit safety device added over the switches, this means its easier to blast the big red stop button in an emergency, but it does slightly hinder the feed tray from fully folding up when in storage.
