It really does the job?** A: Yes it does! Such a deal, and I'm always surprised at how well it gets the job done! You can watch a video who uses it on Youtube(that's why I bought it) wear she shows how she washes her makeup brushes. :) Overall, it's more value than what you paid for! **Q: Can i use this for paint brushes?** A: I don't see why not. I'm not sure about using a chemical based cleaner with it such as paint thinner or acetone. You could probably buy a couple and use one to test with. Other than that you could absolutely use paint brushes on this. In fact I use several artist brushes in my makeup kit and they do just fine. **Q: How do you clean the pad itself?** A: I just rinse it off and if needed use a toothbrush on mine. **Q: Would this work for Makeup sponge as well?** A: I do use it to clean my sponges. I just use the area on the mat with the really small rounded nubs. I didn't want to use anything more aggressive because it might not be good on the sponge.
