I looked at digital ones but felt uneasy about them turning off or losing track of where I leave off during the day. I like that this keeps the count until I clear it. It clicks easily, I was a little worried it would take a lot of pressure but it doesn't take much at all. I also like the audible 'click' I get from this so I know I'm accurately counting even if my eyes are closed during meditation. I looked at another one that was a couple bucks cheaper, but this one had two advantages: 1. The knob is metal - the other one was black plastic, so I think this one would be more durable. And 2. This one came with two straps and the other version didn't have any straps included that I could see. Once I received it I realized the longer lanyard even has a 'quick release' clasp, so that's a nice bonus. My only concern is that I'm not sure how durable the lanyards will be, they attach with a very thin piece of string that I imagine will break fairly easily, but I hope I'm wrong. Regardless, this was a great purchase. And now I've got to sign off and do my 2,021 mantras for the day. UPDATE: Well, within a couple weeks the lanyard did break as I suspected it would.
