I want to use these inside of the Marineland Penguin filters.** A: I use this with a Fish Mate 500GUV Gravity UV+Bio Pond Filter I have never owned any Penguin filters, however looking at them on Amazon I don't know if they would work well for those filters as the filter cartridges have that plastic backing to keep them firm, after this stuff get saturated with waste it will be very flimsy. I have a Nicrew 380L filter (bought off Amazon) and it comes with 1 sponge with large sponges which means the majority of smaller debris doesn't get filtered.
