## Description

A carpet seam is only as good as the tape under it. Zimpty ZY346 heat bond seaming tape carries 11 beads of hot-melt adhesive across a full 4-inch (100mm) width, so the bond holds across the entire joint rather than gripping at the edges and letting the center lift. The 66-foot (20 meter) roll is enough for a full room seam or a series of repairs without splicing. A red stitch line down the center gives you a clear visual guide for keeping the tape aligned under the seam. It activates at a standard iron setting of 2-3, so it works with the seaming iron you already own without running the heat high enough to scorch carpet backing. Suitable for commercial and residential work, including new installs, seam repairs, and patch jobs on cut pile, loop, and cushion-back carpet.

Review: Temperature and time for glue to melt and bond - The product worked very well. I've never done a carpet patch before. YT vids good for guidance but lacked heat/time info for DIY first timers. Product also had no instructions regarding how to get glue to bond. We did two tests prior to using it for a carpet patch. Used a conventional iron and a wet towel over the carpet. Used an IR thermometer to determine actual temperature of the iron. First test was 250 degrees F and it took 12 minutes to get the glue to fully melt and bond. Second test was 300 degrees F and it only took 6.5 minutes for glue to melt and bond. We used 300 degrees / 6 minutes for patch as our target. Everything is holding well day after tests and patch were done.
