The quality of sound is amazing considering the simplicity of this pickup. Others have mentioned that the pickup is fragile, I certainly do have to watch my playing style as I perform quite heavy going rhythmic strumming and have to be mindful of where my hand is playing. The lead is what it is. There's a company called 'Bright Onions' in the U.K. that make all sorts of pedals and specialist leads for the music industry. I guess if I'm really bothered by this lead will contact them to supply a better one. Don't be afraid of buying this pickup, it does the job and does it well. Not happy with that.** A: There should be no hum like the mains hum often heard from electric guitar pickups. However, I found that the 1/8" socket on my Kremona NG-1 was slightly oversized for the 1/8" jack giving me a poor electrical connection which made various noises and hums, but these nosies were variable as I jiggled the jack inside the socket. Once I got a proper connection, the noises stopped. However, the looseness of the connection caused the jack to move whenever I moved the guitar so the noises came back. A new cable made no difference, the problem was with the socket built into the NG-1. **Q: Will the pick up work the same for sure when the pickup be installed with the cable port on the 6th string side, rather than on the 1st string?** A: Yes, I imagine so, there would be no difference in physical size of the transducer top to bottom or bottom to top. Can't really understand why you would want to trail the cable above the strings... But it would still work the same.The reed (transducer) would still vibrate to sound from the bridge of the guitar. There are no so called string specific "pickups" embedded in the reed. If there was such a thing it would cost a bunch more this transducer. **Q: Does the pickup change the break angle of the strings over the bridge?** A: Hello, Thank you for the question. The NG-1 does not change the break angle of the strings going over the bridge. Best, KNA PIckups **Q: Is there any way to paint the pickup to match the indian rosewood of my classical guitar's bridge?** A: I'm not going to paint mine ever, but I guess I don't see how it could be a problem if you wanted to do that. Just get a good stain that matches the rosewood and it should work.
