As the water depth fluctuates, I wanted something that could be removed when not in use. The ladder took a little time to assemble but not difficult and everything lined up well. I had the same concern as others with the attachment to the dock system but it I believe when properly mounted the attachment rings just keep the ladder from sliding. The new step is visually different from the org... My guess is the mfg. has pulled it because of poor quality.., Their customer service is good but the product is not and i would send it back to desertcart but it is past the return window. I am changing my 5 star initial rating to 1 rating. i cannot recommend this product. Good news is, you cant buy the 5 step sloped ladder anyway.
