I had outdoor cover protectors on my outlets, so I did have to remove that in order to plug this in because the plug is rather large, but not an issue at all. I have used this almost every day since it arrived. It took overnight to heat up and about 10 minutes to fill up with water, but you can turn off and reheat at anytime and it seems like it heats up faster. The best thing about this is the jets. They are honestly better than some fancy hot tubs I have used. I am not sure why someone would want a more expensive hot tub after having this.
