Review: Bright, big screen, web browser for direct downloads. - I am very happy with this Kobo reader. I've owned kindles over the years, but the screens were too small and it was annoying to get books from outside the desertcart ecosystem installed. The Kobo has its own ecosystem/web store, which seems fine. I am more interested in reading public domain and other non-copy protected books. For that, I find that the built in web browser is great; you just point it at the Epub site you are using, and download directly. For academic papers (JSTOR), this would be an OUTSTANDING reader, since it handles PDFs very nicely. The 10 inch screen is a must for PDFs. The pen and note taking abilities are a great bonus as well. I find that the pen keeps up amazingly well with rapid handwriting; no irritating lag at all. Very well executed firmware and UI, in my opinion.
Review: Great e-reader - I've been using the Kobo Elipsa 2E for about three months, and it’s very good. The 10.3-inch screen is a nice upgrade from my previous 7-inch reader, especially for PDFs—no more struggling with navigation as the whole page fits well. It’s great for bedtime reading, with a comfortable light and very good screen quality. That said, the" Elipsa 2E Black Sleepcover" is quite expensive at around $70 in the US (but I've got one, and still recommend it, because of good quality) . While the cover is good, I feel it should be bundled with the eReader at a reduced price. Another drawback is with the Notebook software; when using the stylus, it gets confused by input from the bottom of the palm (near the wrist) while writing. It would be great to have an option to disable touch input for that part of the hand and accept stylus-only input, but I couldn’t find this setting.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Screen and font size
*by M***I on July 23, 2025*

Don’t get me wrong: I LOVEmy Kindle Scribe! However, I’ve used it three times since I have had my Kobo Elipsa 2e. I love that it is lighter than my Kindle Scribe. I enjoy being able to purchase books ($1 more than Kindle) and love how I can set up my reading preferences, locking it to portrait reading (couldn’t on the Clara). I HATE, HATE, HATE: that I cannot sync to the furthest page read, if I am switch from the app to the Elipsa; that if I buy a book from another source, it does not automatically get added to a series. I mean if I can save on buying the book somewhere else and add it to the Elipsa, KOBO needs to catch up and allow the data to sync for series. The library is clunky. Come on KOBO. Ya’ll have been around enough to have fixed these very basic design and digital issues. It is lighter and the size is perfect for me. It is comfortable to hold and the lack of buttons, besides the power button, is perfect for me. The writing experience is lagging behind Kindle, Remarkable and Super Note, so I don’t use it for work, which it would be very useful for all of my many different meetings and projects. There are page change lags one to two times a day with about four hours of reading with the pages jumbling, freezing for a moment then operating normally. KOBO please fix the software where digital info from books from other sources can sync with the KOBO for syncing series and fix the syn to furthest page read on the Elipsa and in the app. The app does have the sync option pop up, but it does it when you are at the furthest page read and will take you back to when you last shut the book. Overall, the Elipsa is solid to use especially for those getting out of the kindle sphere where you don’t own the books you purchased and can no longer download them. These two things will have me going back to my Kindle Scribe and painstakingly adding other sourced books. The Elissa may be lighter and an almost comparable screen reading experience, but those are two must haves for me.
