The book was part of my Master degree program class, so I had to purchase it (as I believe most of us are in this situation). Review: Good introduction to computer systems. - I rented this book for a course I took and was very pleased. It arrived very quickly so I was able to start right away even though I had held off on ordering and it was in very good condition. The information is very basic and does not go too indepth but it is presented very clearly and easy to understand. If you have a lot of previous computer experience you will probably find it too basic, but otherwise it should be very helpful.

You can't blame Amazon for the quality or contents of this particular book. The book was part of my Master degree program class, so I had to purchase it (as I believe most of us are in this situation). I rented this book for a course I took and was very pleased. It arrived very quickly so I was able to start right away even though I had held off on ordering and it was in very good condition. The information is very basic and does not go too indepth but it is presented very clearly and easy to understand. If you have a lot of previous computer experience you will probably find it too basic, but otherwise it should be very helpful.
