There is a potty underneath which slides in and out easily for emptying and cleaning. It has a chrome-plated finish with light grey coloured vinyl on the seat, back and armrests. The seat and back are padded as well to provide comfort and are welded to prevent bacteria build up. The comfortable seat is 420 mm (16.6 Inches) deep.The commode comes in modular pieces that assemble together fairly easily without the need for tools. The commode arrived packaged and needed some assembly, attaching the arms, back and wheels which was done very quickly and with no effort. There are four breaks on this commode which are great and it does not move with all the breaks on, even on a smooth floor. The removable pan slides out the back of the commode and has a carry handle and lid, although the lid can only be used once the pan is removed from the commode. The foot plates can be removed if the commode stays in one place, or easily put back on if transporting a person on the commode. It is quite hard to push over carpet, but I found pulling backwards worked well. The commode is a good size, and the arms can be remove on one or both sides if needed. Adjustable legs. *by A***L on 23 November 2020* The wheelchair / commode chair is easy to assemble and fits nicely over a standard toilet. The back section can be removed easily and lifts off, also both arms can be lifted off if required as do the foot rests. I think this is an excellent product. My only slight issue is that the two foot rests could have a clip to hold them in place when turned in to the side of the chair rather than have them swinging or needing to remove them when moving the chair in a tight space.
