Review: Where has this stuff been all my life? It's awesome. - First, this is not WD-40. There's a specific type of application, and it's perfect for that. Beyond that, it's not what you want. This does penetrate, but not deeply, in my experience. It's liquid for several seconds, but after the carrier solvent (or whatever it is) evaporates, the actual lubricant is left behind and very well engaged with the surface. House and car door hinges, awesome. Car door close slides and various slow moving parts, awesome. I recommend protecting whatever is behind the target area from overspray. Just hold a rag or piece of cardboard behind the hinge (for instance) so you don't coat your trim paint. Very easy to wipe off, and it seemed to have no adverse effect on the latex enamel trim paint. After wiping, there was still a thin film of lubricant on the trim, which was easy to mitigate. I found this to be ideal for garage door roller bearings, and it is far less messy than the white lithium grease. I don't know if that's a recommended application, but it's working very well. Also great for car hatch hinges, the power opener mechanism linkages and other slow moving parts. Protect the interior surfaces from overspray, however. Final note, you do NOT need much for each lube point. A tiny burst is plenty. Repeat if you didn't get the penetration you needed, like for a tall door hinge pin. Also, working the hinge back and forth several times while spraying helped distribute the lubricant after application, while it was still in penetrant form.

First, this is not WD-40. There's a specific type of application, and it's perfect for that. Beyond that, it's not what you want. This does penetrate, but not deeply, in my experience. Works very well for the intended use of lubrication. Goes on as liquid and as describes sets up as it dries to be thicker and does not run if applied properly. I used it on my convertible's hardtop without any problems
