We received it as a gift today, but will be out of town** A: I wouldn't put pink oyster spawn/substrate in the fridge. Other oyster mushrooms would be okay, but I understand the cold might kill pink oyster mycelium. Your best bet is to keep them closed and in a cool, dark place. I suspect they'd be fine. (In my experience, some of these could use more time to colonize anyway.) **Q: What type of lighting is needed for these and how much light do they need?** A: Mushrooms only need ambient lighting to grow, meaning you can grow these right on your countertop with overhead lighting, no problem! **Q: Why would the block of sawdust turn green? It only produced one small flush of 1.5 oz and then stopped when the whole block got all green and fuzzy.** A: Mine also produced one small flush then stopped and just produced little malformed bits that never turned into anything.
