### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Green apatite genuine -an interesting pigment that has limited applications.

Although this fascinating pigment is wildly granulating into various colours ranging from a dull brown, a medium green and a somewhat disconcerting vivid green as promised it does have a some limitations that painters should be aware of. Firstly: it is virtually impossible to control and being semi-staining will leave a green residue when one attempts to lift it. Secondly: it dries to a much duller finish than the ordinary range of Daniel Smith watercolours. Thirdly : it doesn't mix well as well with other colours as many other greens. This does, as far as I am concerned, limit its utility. I find it works well for abstract, semi-abstract and experimental pieces where one is happy to apply it as a wash, give it its head, see what happens and leave it alone. For more ordinary watercolour techniques it is probably wiser to stick with a standard Viridian or Perylene as a single pigment or use a mixed Sap/Hooker's/Green Gold convenience paint.
