The OEM 10mm hex bolt is notorious for stripping over time, and mine was already tough to remove, so I didn’t want to risk it. Swapped it out with this plug, and it fit like a glove. It even comes with a copper crush washer, which is a nice touch. The best part is that it takes a regular large automotive hex socket instead of a small Allen key, so torquing it down is way easier and way less likely to strip. There are plenty of videos and forum posts showing how the OEM bolt can be a pain, so this is a solid upgrade. Plus, it has a magnetic tip, which is perfect for catching any metal shavings in the transfer case.
