The true base size is 19" x 47" x 7.5" (sloped) **Q: Would it work for a pair of rats?** A: Yea I have my two girls in it ..my elderly rat pepper got her feet stuck in the 2 level cage which I've never had happened to my rats from the past... You can't wipe the floor clean. **Q: Our rabbit is litter box trained - is this cage big enough to accomodate a corner litter box?** A: I have a regular cat litter pan in the XL cage. The pan has lower sides all around it. I have a disabled bunny so I cut an area out in the front of the pan so my bunny can easily get into it to potty.My litter box pan is probably 18 inches long. Well build! Assembly is not complicated at all and it looks sharp. It has everything to make a bunny and the owner happy! I would wish for a size up and above this of course my rescued bunny turned out huge, so it does not fit in the little house. She is so big that she takes up all the room on the top where the food bowl is. But this has nothing to do with the great quality of this cage:) I took the red food bowl out and just feed her in "the bowl " underneath it , so when she has a bit of a grumpy day she can not throw the bowl around. The food remains in the bowl instead of in the shavings:) Folks please make one double or three times as large and I will buy it :)) That would be nice anyway of course even smaller bunnies would have more room to play and stretch the legs. Sometimes we do not have that much time, so I would feel less guilty if she would have more room to hop around. I like the fact that the floor has a pattern, so there is no accidental sliding for the animal. Healthier and safer for the pet and still very easy to clean. I use a cat litter scoop to clean it, works very well.
