No gooseneck space issues. Just a standard junction box and the hardware already in the box. One E26 medium base bulb (sold separately) lights the whole thing; LED, incandescent, or smart bulbs all fit. Pair it with a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately) and you set the mood. These lights are nice and have dramatic lighting. The light does shine straight down to the ground so make sure that is the direction of light you want before installing.

I bought this design because I have limited space above outlet so tall gooseneck would not work. I also wanted a "downlight" rather than something shining brightly in all directions. After installing them the light quality and direction exceeded my expectations. Rather than previously glaring light, these lights make the area seem warm and cozy. Simple install; weatherproof design, classic zinc, barn style. Headed back to replace fixtures on the other side of the house!
