Review: Great high wattage SFF PSU and ignore the cable haters! - First off, clearly no one complaining about these cables has dealt with other SFX or SFX-L PSUs with worse cable stiffness like the SIlverstone SX1000. I've had plenty a PSU with worse cables, these were surprisingly easy to work with in a SFF build. That said, I do wish the GPU cables were a bit shorter since there's three individual cables I am having to hide 2/3 length for in my case. Too many actual SFF cases that "support SFX-L" really don't in any usable way (looking at you Lian Li Dan A4-H2O, Phanteks Evolv Shift XT, and Hyte Revolt 3)... You end up with the cables absolutely SMASHED against the PSU trying to get a higher wattage SFX-L in there. Enter this beauty and despite having the connectors protrude a bit more than some SFF PSUs, it's a dream by comparison. I had enough room to actually put the cable managing cover back on in my Hyte Revolt 3 and keep from having cables push my GPU at an angle a bit in the case. The noise is totally fine, I don't hear it really at all at idle or load. I DID have a coil whine issue when my computer was powered off, actually, but after some searching and adjusting BIOS settings for ErP/S5/whatever power saving settings you have options of that went away entirely. Now it stays silent and operates wonderfully. If you have a higher power SFF system or want to save space in the case, this thing is great and I'd absolutely recommend it with the same level of quality as things like the Silverstone SX1000 or 850R, Phanteks Revolt, or Corsair SF750. When on sale this was ~$20 more than those and was a no brainer for the additional headroom and 10 year warranty.
Review: Noisy, Noisy, Noisy - TL;DR: Do yourself a favor and buy the Corsair SF1000 instead. I bought this PSU admittedly after not doing a lot of research. I saw that it was a >1000w SFX PSU from a major brand and kinda assumed it'd be fine. It took about 30 min after finishing my build to realize my mistake. This PSU was by far the loudest component in my build at load, which included a 9800x3D cooled by a Nocuta D15, an AMD 7900xtx, 2 140mm fans and 4 120mm fans. That alone would be fine - at load, I expect my PC to be a little noisy. But what ultimately led me to look at a different PSU entirely was the idle noise. The fan in this POS runs CONSTANTLY, and is incredibly noisy. I replaced the V1100 with a Corsair SF1000, and it is DEAD silent at idle because it has a zero RPM mode. Shockingly, it doesn't even turn on very often with my 9800x3D. Sadly I couldn't even return this because I took a couple of months to accumulate all of the parts for my build and by the time I had it installed, the return window closed. I feel BAD about re-selling it on the used market knowing that I'm jumanji-ing some poor unfortunate soul who ends up with this absolute howler. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the msrp?**
A: As of April, it's supposed to be $115/$125/$135/$145 (due to increased tariffs) for 550/650/750/850 watt variants; do not buy it from third party sellers charging $270 for the V850, they are attempting to rip you off.

**Q: How loud does it get? Is it really a deal breaker?**
A: Mine doesnt get loud at all, i have it in the nr200.

**Q: If Purchased on Jan 8th, will you receive the revised model with the better fan curve?**
A: I purchased one on January 30th 2021, and there was no annoying fan curve. I could barely hear it ramp up even with my ear right next to it.

**Q: How to tell which one is the new 850v sfx vs the old one? Can anyone tell me.**
A: As per a bunch of reddit posts from within the last month, the "new batch" is also loud. Supposedly that was the only reason for the recall of the first batch and I never saw any posts about them failing, so it could just be them doing qc. That being said, I had CM's 650v sfx running in an nr200 with a 3600x, 3080FE, and 240rad, and it was pretty quiet. Even under load I could never hear it over my cheap headphones. Though supposedly the 750 is also supposed to be a bit noisy, I just swapped mine with the 750v sfx and I find it's also quiet. Depending on your system, you should see if you could get away with 750W. Also check for CM's reddit posts. They have someone who responds pretty often there. If I see something I'll reply again.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent SFX PSU
*by A***. on July 13, 2023*

Not as loud as some would have you believe, however, the cables that come with it, suck, point blank. It doesn't come with any 90 degree bend cables, and the wiring is very difficult to bend to shape to fit easily in the case. Apart from that, works flawlessly, provides consistent power, and was very very easy to install/connect to the motherboard. 1100w in a small form factor like this is incredible.
