The clock has a battery operated movement with manual night shut-off and wooden dial. It needs two mignon AA batteries. The running-time of the batteries is about one year.

The clock has a pleasing appearance,but would have liked to see a cuckoo come out on the hour. Also needs resetting frequently as the "cuckoo" calls get out of sequence.
