Review: It was an acquired taste but I love it now! - So good, but I’m gonna be very honest about what you’re getting into first 😭. If you aren’t familiar with Asian snacks, the smell alone might shock you a little. A lot of people say it smells like chicken, pork, taco seasoning, chili oil… or even some say cat piss lol. Now if i’m being honest I see how people could say it smells like the last part..but certain chili oil brands smell like that to regardless. This does have chili oil in it, but anyway after a while you get used to the smell and start noticing more of the chili 🌶️ aroma instead of… that other smell, if yk what I mean. As for the flavor, this kind has a numbing feeling on your tongue the more you eat it. It’s slightly sweet and savory, and the spice level is pretty low. I’d describe the numbing feeling as similar to how your tongue feels after drinking something fizzy 🥤 or eating kimchi. My sister said this tastes like chicken, but honestly… it literally tastes exactly like the name to me, a flavored gluten stick 😭. I also really like the texture, it’s nice and spongy, and this is the only brand I’ve tried that doesn’t stink up the whole house. I really enjoy the red bag this brand sells too, but fair warning… that was the first latiao I ever tried and I immediately learned my lesson because it was very spicy lol. Sometimes I’ll eat both flavors on the side with a rice and salmon bowl instead of straight out the bag because I like switching it up. I made this review mainly to be honest so people actually know what they’re getting themselves into beforehand.

So good, but I’m gonna be very honest about what you’re getting into first 😭. If you aren’t familiar with Asian snacks, the smell alone might shock you a little.
