Thank you for your inquiry. The percentage of the VLT means the Visual Light Transmission. The higher the VLT percentage is, the lighter the lens tint.
VLT 0-8% - Suitable for sunny day with bright light.
VLT 9-18% - Suitable for sunny to partly cloudy day.
VLT 19-42% - Suitable for overcast, cloudy, foggy day.
VLT 43-79% - Suitable for low light conditions.
VLT 80-99% - Suitable for dark night.

A: Kelly Francis. Why would you go to a question and asnwer section just to tell someone "you don't know". No one cares you're a noob at skiing lol. They just want their question to be answered with something besides "I dont know" 

Yes, this will fit your helmet. The higher the VLT the better you will be able to see in low light conditions. If you want something to protect against bright light stick with the low VLT and dark lense.

**Q: what lens should i get?**
A: It depends on the weather. They have the percentage of transparency (VLT), VLT11-18 % are for clear days and 99% are complete Transparent. I have black and they were perfect for sunny and cloudy days

**Q: What do the letters before the vlt % mean? i am seeing ao, x, y, & z....**
A: People have already answered this and it turns out that they are internal for the manufacturer and don't mean anything to the consumer.  It is confusing because everybody is asking this question.  I'm betting the company wishes they wouldn't have done this.

These goggles were definitely a favorite! They fit my face wonderfully and blocked sun and glare so well that I could see perfectly! I was concerned that they would feel heavy, but they were very lightweight. Easy to adjust, once I put them on I did not touch them during the 2-hour tubing session. Absolutely worth the price!
