Waste vegetable oil (WVO), also known as cooking oil diesel, diesel vegetable oil, vegetable oil diesel, or vegetable oil for diesel, and waste motor oil (WMO), seem to be the more popular alternative fuels being used today. All PA Biodiesel Supply centrifuges have proven to be excellent choices for both WVO and WMO filtering to below one-half micron while de-watering your oil. This 55 GPH Centrifuge will clean oil to under 1 micron and can hold 10.5 oz of containiments. The centrifuge will clean waste vegetable oil, waste motor oil, hydraulic oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, diesel, and more! The centrifuge operates at 55 GPH and 90 PSI supplied by a pump. The oil enters the centrifuge in the oil inlet which is 1/4 NPT, it then pushes back a spring when above 35 PSI. The oil pushes back the spring and plunger traveling up the shaft of the base. Oil then exits two holes in the shaft entering the rotor. It then escapes the rotor from two jets placed 180° apart, the pressure of the oil escaping causes the centrifuge to spin. It will spin at 7,500 RPM at 90 PSI, generating 2,000 G-force cleaning the oil. The more passes the oil has through the centrifuge the cleaner the oil will be. The oil must be thinned or heated to 170℉ for the centrifuge to operate correctly. If the oil is not thinned the centrifuge will not spin. A 1/3 HP gear pump is recommended for this model to operate at its best efficiency. Pressure should never exceed 95 PSI or damage will occur to the rotor. All internal parts are nickel plated.
