This is why chose these sunglasses. So far I have only used them for mountain biking. They are reasonable dark and the side parts which are removable block out almost all light from your peripheral vision. In short I would say that they would be ideal for an Antarctic trip or high snow capped peaks. **Q: Not all colours seem to have alti arc lens which is misleading. which lens is matt black/grey? spectron3 or 4?** A: If you zoom in on particular glasses you want you can see what lens they are!
