Clearly a lot of effort spent on design and thinking of a new way to design a caulking gun. That said, the effort clearly failed. The concept of the thing is that an abrasive sleeve grabs the cartridge and pulls it backwards against a fixed plunger. This requires of course that the tube is cut in some way on its way backwards and that the abrasive sleeve has enough "grip" to expel the caulk and overcome the force needed to cut through the cartridge. This is where the first problem arises, as the abrasive wears off and gets clogged with the paint and material from the cartridges, so it looses its grip quickly. This means that only relatively soft cartridges can be cut, i.e. the thin plastic ones, not cardboard or aluminum tubes. It also means that any adhesive or caulk with higher viscosity will not be expelled easily. So you cannot use this for heavy adhesives like most contractor's adhesives (especially when cold) or sikaflex. The fact it cuts the cartridge also means you cannot turn the cartridge around to align your angle cut tip with the job at hand, so it becomes quite unwieldy to use. When putting too much force on it, to get heavy adhesive out, mine burst apart and I sent it back for a refund, all within a week or so of purchasing it.
