Make certain you have all your supplies right next to you, ready to go. I purchased my cling for my patio doors, as there's an apartment building behind me. I wanted privacy, but some light, too. This satisfies both for me. During the day, the curtains are open, light filters through, but no one can see in....perfect! Curtains closed at night, though.Just remember to do the following, and you should have no problems: clean the windows well. I did this step twice. Spread your cling out on a large flat surface, with the cling side facing down, removable film side UP, I used my bed. Forgot to mention.....Cut cling down to whatever size you need, just remember to leave ONE INCH EXTRA around the boarder...you'll cut this off at the end. I used painter's tape to help hold this to the patio door to get an approximate size. Look for the little tab to help you remove the film, have spray bottle at the ready. Slowly separate the film from the cling....there WILL be a little static. Spray the film AND the cling, the water helps cut down the static. Keep removing film and spraying both until film is all removed. Spray window, door, wherever this is going to be applied, with the same solution you used to spray the cling. Don't be scotch with it, make certain to use enough, but you don't need water running down the surface. Carefully position in place, be patient! You WILL have bubbles. If you work slowly & carefully, reposition when you need to, you'll get a lot of the air bubbles and not squeegee out too many. Make certain to use a sharp utility knife and leave yourself a small sliver of window at the edges...this is needed to get the water out that you're squeegeeing. Have a microfiber cloth ready to clean up the water that comes out. Don't be afraid to go over a few times, being very careful by the edges....you don't want to lift it up by accident. It'll "set" in a few hours, a day tops.Mine has been up almost 2 weeks now and I'm loving it....so glad I did this! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect product for blocking the view of creepy people looking through your front door sidelight. *by C***L on Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2018* Best. Invention. Ever,We have a long skinny sidelight next to our front door. Whomever designed that obviously didn't think about door-to-door salespeople knocking on the door and then peering through the window to see if you're there. Pretty creepy to look up from the sofa where you're sitting to see some guy's face 2 inches from the glass. Enter: window film.My daughter and I were able to install this in about an hour. It could have taken less time, but we felt like if "measure twice, cut once" was a good idea, then measuring 3 or 4 times would be even smarter for us. I also don't recommend an Xacto knife. The product is vinyl-type material and the Xacto wasn't so exacto when trying to cut it. Maybe my blade wasn't sharp enough. Maybe I'm not so great wielding an xacto knife. Either way, scissors = easier. If the edges aren't perfect, I found that a flat, silicon instrument with tapered edges (such as I received for cleaning my pizza stone) was just the right tool to slightly lift up the vinyl strips surrounding my window glazing so that I could "tuck" the edges of the vinyl window cling underneath, thus concealing my slightly imperfect edges. This instrument also was perfect for smoothing out the bubbles. Pro tip: have your teenage daughter stand on the outside and point out the tiny bubbles to the person on the inside smoothing out the bubbles. The vinyl maneuvers easily and can be picked up and put back down in case you aren't exact when laying it down the first time (or second or third...). The spray bottle with water is important for making this job easier. If you use too much, make sure you have a dish towel on hand to wipe up "squirting" from the sides while smoothing bubbles.All in all, it's a great invention. Beautiful/elegant, looks professional, masks the view from creepy outsiders while still letting light in. It can be easily removed if you decide to do something different later down the line. It has been up a couple of weeks and haven't noticed any peeling or separation. Good quality - Doesn't look cheesy at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice for the Price *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2020* This product can be very good or very poor depending on how well you follow instructions and how skilled you are applying it. I applied this product to a couple small door windows and it turned out great. I would recommend the following: 1) Follow the simple instructions closely 2) Cut the piece to be slightly larger than the space you are applying it to. 3) Again, apply it following the application instructions provided. 4) Then use a very sharp knife or razor blade so you match the space exactly with no overlap (or taking away too much) 5) IMPORTANT: last step is important which is to rigorously scrap out any air bubbles and excess water between the glass and product using a solid plastic wedge (I avoided a metal putty knife so I wouldn't damage the product). Use a cloth while pressing to absorb the water that gets pushed out. If you do not remove the excess water or air then the product will bubble and eventually peel off partially or fully and look terrible. Inversely, if the product is not sticking properly while pressing then you may need to add more water with a spray bottle. Find the balance is the point. Lastly, you may want to let it sit for an hour or so after you are done pressing it and then come back to it afterwards to press it a little more to see if any water or bubbles formed while it sat.In the end the product looked excellent using these techniques and has been holding great for several months. Now, I gave the excess parts of the product to a family member and they tried to apply it. It did not look good and I assume they did not apply it with diligence like I did. Just an example how a review of a product can be drastically different on how well you apply it or use it.This was during cold month (winter into spring) which I think is worth mentioning.
