Maximum 100 meters no timber interference. It does require charging every 5 days. Not worth buying, better to spend the money on more mains powered devices which have a range of 300 meters to 1 km depending on terrain (timber not mountain). Review: Works very well. Has three distance adjustments. Would have given 5 stars, but the only downside is the bracket the sensor is attached too. There is no method to tighten the sensor to the bracket. I solved this by using strips of duct tape to the backside once the sensor angle was adjusted properly. Have several older additions and they do not work with the newer ones.
