This is one of those objects. The design is wonderful. Someone thought about what would make a good pot for drip coffee, and then they made one. The bowl shape at the bottom is genius. When coffee is poured, the pot is horizontal and the fine grounds, those that make it through the filter, sink to the bottom of the bowl when you pour. They don’t end up in your cup. That’s all. No tricks. Just using gravity to make coffee better. The filter doesn’t clog. It works fast. I like making coffee one or two cups at a time. This is what it’s designed for. The removable cork is pleasing, and not fiddly to use. The pot is easy to clean. But the real genius here is the shape of the bowl. It just works.

**Q: is the cork sleeve removable for washing purposes?**
A: Yes it is made of 2 separate parts held together by the leather sting (that simple hooks around twice). Hope it helps. 
You need to remove/undo them every time for washing/drying. I like more than just rinsing after every use and coffee stains come out easily from cork when cleaned regularly.

**Q: Does this have a cork neck as in the picture or plastic as per the review?**
A: Yes it does have a cork neck as in the picture. I've noticed sometimes the reviews get mixed up when there are multiple versions of the same item.

**Q: What's the internal diameter of the waist?**
A: Internal diameter is around 50mm

**Q: Is the tie real or imitation leather?**
A: Yes seems real to me and it holds the insulation in place very well.

Someone thought about what would make a good pot for drip coffee, and then they made one. The bowl shape at the bottom is genius. When coffee is poured, the pot is horizontal and the fine grounds, those that make it through the filter, sink to the bottom of the bowl when you pour. They don’t end up in your cup. That’s all. Lovely, clean coffee- especially with paper filter added. Only problem is the cork belt position means you can’t tell if it’s filled. Just got to guess, practice will help. A clear heatproof belt would have been much more practical- probably less attractive though?
