**Q: Can this be used on young chickens 10 weeks old?**
A: Yes I have with no adverse reaction, I don't  directly spray on chicks so young I dab with a cotton wool swab, that ensures complete coverage. Hope this helps you.

**Q: how to remove this purple stuff off an animal**
A: From my experience the problem is getting it to stay on an animal. It seems to wash off in rain within a couple of hours. It may stain feathers but on skin is seems very poor. I’ve mixed it with Vaseline and painted on rather than spray and it still wears away within 3 days.

**Q: Why is this product for animals only?**
A: they decided that it's not safe for humans after rat tests where they feed them over course of months/years with large dosses of violet and it resulted in carcinogenic tumors developing in their bodies, There are scarce evidence that this same goes for humans so in my opinion they summed it up as ''if rats get it and they are mammals then humans surely will too''  but then again they were feeding them violet,  so unless anyone wants to drink it over the course of months i doubt it is THAT harmful, and saying that overdosing medication of any kind isn't good even paracetamol will kill you if overdosed. So here is my opinion on that, and based on my own research regarding the Gentian Violet...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Every poultry keeper should own a bottle of this

I purchased this as I had a bully hen who managed to pack another hens vent until it bled profusely. I washed her wound and then applied sugar as a coagulant to cause the blood to clot. Once the bleed calmed down and clotted I applied this. She winced ever so slightly so i assume the sting wasn't too uncomfortable. I applied it liberally. The wound was completely red raw, but using this dyed the area completely violet. Ideal as hens live pecking red areas. It did a good job at preventing infection. The bully hen was probably put off nipping her again by about 85%. So it did not completely remove the urge but certainly did help considerably. However, previously I noticed the bully hens actions inspired the rest of the flock to get involved in the pecking of rear ends. But since using this they all seem non plussed about doing so. The spray bottle is pretty good at directional spraying. However in the wind it is dispersed. The violet spray stains human skin and clothing. So I'd suggest using an apron and gloves. My hen had about three or four days of wound spraying. Weeks and weeks later her tail feather plumage still has a violet tinge. But I haven't bathed her since but it is clearly fading which is good. The bottle is huge. Unnecessarily large for a backyard keeper like me, more a commercial size but it is well priced so I don't mind.
