The inserts didn’t go deep enough for my aralia pots, maybe half way down the planter, but they’re still sizable planters. I love that they look classy and I can fill the bottom with rocks or styrofoam to get the height I need for my aralia pot. I also love that they’re big enough for large plants - i might buy more for my star jasmine and fill the whole thing with dirt.So far construction seems sturdy enough to do the job. The walls are thin enough that I can bend them with very slight pressure. So beware that if you plan to have these in some punishing southern sun, they may melt or warp. Mine stand up to California morning sun just fine so far, but we’ll see what happens as the season warms. They don’t feel so thin to me that morning sun will damage them, but I wouldn’t let them sit in all day sunshine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase! *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2020* I love this set of 2 planters, they are a great value for the money and look fantastic at the front door. I have not used the self-watering feature so cannot comment on that. Easy to drill a few drainage holes on the bottom and then simply place potted plants inside. Comes with an adjustable insert to accommodate small or large pots. They are well constructed and seem as if they will hold up well. They do seem a bit lightweight so I placed 4 bricks inside on the bottom to keep them stabilized in case of high winds.
