Product Description Schwabe kaloba pelargonium cough and cold relief tablets is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to relieve the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections including the common cold, such as sore throat, cough and blocked or runny nose, exclusively based on long-standing use as a traditional remedy. Kaloba is a regulated herbal Product and meets specific standards of safety and quality. Available in 30 capsules. Ingredients Each film-coated tablet contains 20 mg of extract (as dry extract) from the roots of Pelargonium sidoides DC (1 : 8 – 10) (EPs® 7630) Extraction solvent 11% ethanol (w/w). Directions Adults and children over 12 years: Take 1 tablet three times daily (morning, midday, evening). Swallow the tablet whole with some water. Do not chew the tablet. After the relief of symptoms, continue treatment for a further 2-3 days to prevent a relapse. However, treatment should not exceed two weeks. Safety Warning Do not take this product if you are: Under 18 years of age, pregnant or breast-feeding, allergic to any of the ingredients (see further information below, already taking medicines for sleep or anxiety. Review: A staple. - I wouldn't be without this in the winter
Review: Best remedy I have ever had. I've used it for may years now. - With every infection I used to get a bad chest infection, very inflamed throat and ulcerated tonsils. When I first used it, I could feel the infection making it's way out of my chest. At the first sign of infection I take 2 tablets with 400mg of ibuprofen up to 3 times a day, then tail this off as I feel the infection has been defeated. As the directions say, do not suddenly stop or you will have a relapse, just take one or 2 tablets a day for a few more days. This generally stops an infection taking hold. My tonsils are no longer swollen and ulcerated and I can't remember when I had the last full blown cold. This is more than the instructions recommend, so it's up to you what you try, but I have personally not had a problem taking 6 a day. Somebody commented that they are expensive. I don't have a problem with the price if it stops me being very ill.

A: According to the packaging it contains "Lactose mono hydrate". However, I am lactose intolerant, and it has never affected me.

I wouldn't be without this in the winter

With every infection I used to get a bad chest infection, very inflamed throat and ulcerated tonsils. When I first used it, I could feel the infection making it's way out of my chest. At the first sign of infection I take 2 tablets with 400mg of ibuprofen up to 3 times a day, then tail this off as I feel the infection has been defeated. As the directions say, do not suddenly stop or you will have a relapse, just take one or 2 tablets a day for a few more days. This generally stops an infection taking hold. This is more than the instructions recommend, so it's up to you what you try, but I have personally not had a problem taking 6 a day. Somebody commented that they are expensive.
