Contec Medical Systems is a major China manufacturer of medical systems. The product arrived as scheduled, well presented in a hard shell plastic case, with a lanyard, two batteries, a soft plastic cover and a nylon pouch that slips along a belt.Battery installation is self-evident, which is just as well as the enclosed instruction leaflet is in German. Usage is very obvious too, but anyone unsure will find a video on the Pulox.de website. Once fired up, the Pulsoximeter takes a moment to stabilise and then appears to be very consistent. Certainly mine matched the pulse rate simultaneously recorded by my Omron blood pressure monitor. As for oxygen saturation, I shall take it with me on my next visit to my GP and compare it with their equipment.The single on/off button also provides the means to select the way the data is presented and its brightness. Overall, it appears to be a sturdy and effective device at a very reasonable price. You can spend more, but I wasn't convinced there would be any real benefit.It lost a star only because the manual and initial communications from Novidion were in German. When I contacted Novidion they were quick to respond and provided a pdf file of the manual in English, albeit slightly ambiguous English in places!Interestingly, the manual does warn you that: "The device has normal useful life for three years since the first electrified use." Of course, this may also apply to all such equipment.
