I have never liked purple shampoos because of how much they dry out the hair, and many purple masks are actually much more blue which my hair can't handle without getting a green tint. I also tried Brad Mondo's mask but again, too blue for my hair. Every time I washed my hair I found myself with weird tones, or I would end up mixing my own toner with conditioner to try to combat the yellow. Each time I toned my hair, it got darker by a noticeable amount. This wasn't sustainable. I ended up needing to lighten my hair back up to the original level when I got it done at the salon to get the built up toner off. I decided to give Brad's blonde leave in foam a try, since the major selling point to me was that it washes out and doesn't stain the hair. Bingo! Now I am able to have platinum blonde hair each time out of the shower without adding more depositing color. This is going to help me gradually lighten my blonde back up without missing a beat, and hold me over between salon visits.
