I actively avoid those. I want a mug where the coffee is the right temp to drink after I get done dealing with kids picking some random thing to cry about while they are getting ready for school in the morning. So this mug seems to be a sweet spot for insulation for me but that’s personal preference.It says hand wash, that’s because if you dishwasher it eventually the paint will start coming off around the top. But that took 3 years to happen with my old one. So if up to you on that one.I got my first one as a gift from a company and loved it. So I guess that makes it giftable by default for me.
