I have never seen carry handles on any carriers other than the smaller sizes, it is easier and safer to carry from the sides. Also, I wouldn't use this as a crate for daily crate training, it isn't roomy enough. This is really only designed for travel use. I have a do who is an escape artist and breaks out of wire crates.** A: The size I bought is slightly smaller than the 36" and I have Tibetan Spaniels. They haven't been aggressive with it, so it's been fine for them. Vari-Kennels were always good for my German Shepherds. If you have only used wire crates, you may find that the more enclosed plastic crate have a more calming den-like quality that helps settle your dog. We used to have the size just below, which he also fit into, but he had to duck down a little when inside ... So we decided to get him a bigger "condo" so he'd be more comfortable, and we can tell he appreciates the extra room.
