One day, family man Gunnar Johansson found the courage to resign from the bus company and give the contractor inside him free rein. His idea was to forge flower stands and decorations, focusing on quality and design. Soon customers came in crowds to Gunnar, who called his company Gnosjö Konstsmide. More than 80 years later, the Johansson family in Gnosjö still runs the company. They really are quite mesmerisingly beautiful and really put you in a Christmassy mood. I felt 5 years old again! In fact, to be honest, I’d rather watch this for an hour or two than all the dross masquerading as ‘entertainment’ which inevitably features on our TV screens over the festive season! You also have the assurance of knowing that because it’s made in Germany it won’t have fallen apart or stopped working by the time the festive season is over. My partner, saw mine and equally enchanted, bought a couple for his friends also. A few weeks ago I bought a couple more and went to purchase batteries to insert in each lamp before giving to the recipients in time for Christmas. Trouble is that the listing information is incorrect. Please note that the batteries required are larger than stated, i.e. 3 x C 1.5 V -which may be more expensive also. Having now opened a multi pack of AA’s I bought for the purpose, I won’t be permitted a refund from the store I purchased them, which is frustrating. Obviously either the listing info, or the product design has changed since last year. Don’t be disappointed.

Firstly I was so impressed with this item last year that I bought another as a gift. They really are quite mesmerisingly beautiful and really put you in a Christmassy mood. I felt 5 years old again!
