As the designer and manufacturer of this unique and energy efficient product, we can tell you that Magflap has been developed based on the customers demand of a higher quality product that actually works! Magflap is available in four different colours; Satin Silver, Satin White, Brass Effect Finish and Matte Black (all sold separately). If you have protruding nuts on the inside of your door, we now fit a thicker gasket as standard to clear them. This gasket also helps when the aperture is bigger than 70mm as you don’t need to fix the centre screws in. If in doubt of whether a Magflap will fit your mailbox, just send us your aperture measurements via the order and we will sort it out for you! My door aperture is 6cms but i found if I lined up the bottom of the Magflap aperture with the bottom of the door aperture this completely covered the cut-out in the door, I just omitted the top centre screw when fixing as it was too close to the edge. Despite using only 5 of the six supplied screws, the fit is flush and airtight and there is no draught coming through anymore. Its only 1.5cm deep so not obtrusive and the magnets are strong enough to pull flap shut each time yet post just slips through - my postman didnt even know it had been fitted. Very pleased with the product - its a neat solution with no unsightly brushes. I would have liked to see a chrome or brass version, but the silver looks fine with the chrome fittings on the door.
