They also don't digest protein from the milk of cows well as the protein in the milk of their mother dogs. That said, most dogs can tolerate this as a treat or it would not be on the market. Just use sparingly, and watch for signs it disagrees with your pet...loose stool, licking of paws, hotspots, hair loss, yeasty or smelly ears, etc. Real peanut butter, the natural kind, won't have these worries, but can be harder to get into the toy. It will have more calories - fine for growing puppies and dogs who get plenty of exercise. **Q: Can this be mixed in with kibble easily? Will it coat the pieces well?** A: It could, but using real peanut butter as a food supplement for carbs and calories, or to entice a dog with a failing appetite to eat, would make more sense. If you are not trying to get this in a hard-to-put place, why use spray? If you are putting the kibble in the Kong, then adding this, to make it a bigger challenge, then yes, it should work. Freezing it will make it even more challenging.
