Review: Don't Let The Price Fool You, It's SOLID! - I live in an apartment complex and wanted some added security, when my wife and I are home, mainly when sleeping. Something about the maintenance guys, property manager, etc. having a key to get in makes me want to take an added measure. Some of the reviews said it could be easily broken, I have no idea what they are talking about. I grabbed the package it came and was immediately impressed by how much it weighs! If this is properly installed on the door, and preferably on a stud around the door frame, it is SOLID. I mean, this chain isn't a little flimsy chain, a lot thicker than I expected. The whole thing is very well made, a nice weight to it, fits in the slider perfectly, very secure when screwed in properly. and is incredibly cheap! **Q: How long is the main body of the lock?**
A: It's really long; I used a nut and bold to shorten it, putting the bolt through a couple of links.
I think it was originally about 9 inches, now I have it at about 7".
It was for cat ingress and egress before a cat door was installed.

**Q: Can this be installed where door and door frame moulding are not flush? moulding is fancy and I don’t want to destroy it.**
A: As long as you can get the 6 screws in somewhere.

**Q: Does this come with the proper fitting screws?**

**Q: Exactly what size screws are these as I'd need to buy metal screws?**
A: It comes with screws. No idea what size they are.
