Review: Tripled my wifi speed. Fantastic. - Got BT Full Fibre 900 and got this to replace my BT SH2. My BT hub was getting 1.1Ghps via Ethernet but when iPad was right next to my router using wifi, was only getting around 220Mbps, once switched over to the XD5 (which was fast and easy) was getting over 700Mbps. So super pleased with this. Probably due to the fact BT hub is still wifi 5 and the ASUS is using wifi 6. Overall it has increased my wifi speed all around the house, 3x the speed I was getting with my BT hub.
Review: Not worth the money - Unless you live in 2 room apartment with cardboard walls this Mesh system will disappoint . Wireless Connection of each mesh node is slow even if you set them in close proximity. Only Way to get anything decent out of them is to connect each node with cable and leave them in the room where you need internet the most and make sure it has clear sight on the device Any object in front of the node will reduce speed by 50%. The whole point why I purchased them was to NOT drag cable across the house. For the asking price they are definitely not worth it.

**Q: I have a couple of xt8 units. can i use an xd4 as a range extender? is it a good idea?**
A: I have exactly this setup, two XT8s with a pair of XD4s (I left a review on the 20th of December if you want to check this - my issue is described in the review). In short, whilst this is an expensive setup, I now get a solid connection inside my garage (previously it would only connect outside of this). These units are tiny in comparison to the XT8 but seriously good in my opinion.

**Q: is this  a better system than the Tenda ones?**
A: It is impossible to answer without knowing what tenda model but, if you've read the other answer, bear in mind that Tenda has wifi6 models as well, and this (ZenWiFi AX Mini XD4) is NOT tri-band.

**Q: Is this an add on unit? I already have an Asus router but need a add on unit.**
A: I bought a pair of these and used them to complement my XT12 router.  Added them using the AI Mesh feature and they work really well.

**Q: How are the parental controls on the ax minis? read a few ppl saying it's scheduling only, no content filters, and some that say it's full control thx**
A: The Asus router app has this option, to schedule, block content, or turn off access. I haven't used it but the option is there. If you login to the router via the Web page, it opens up all advanced options and settings that the app only has limited options. You should also check the user manual, that should show you what it can do.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stable mesh Wi-Fi after 6 months

Stable mesh Wi-Fi after 6 months Had the ZenWiFi XD5 3-pack running for about 6 months now and it has been rock solid. Worth noting I am using it in access point mode behind my own router, so I am not making use of the built-in AiProtection or routing features. For my use case it is purely about coverage and performance, and on both counts it delivers. Coverage is excellent throughout the house, speeds are consistently strong, and I have not had a single dropout or reliability issue since setting it up. Setup via the ASUS app is mostly straightforward, though the initial configuration could be a bit clearer in places. Only real downside is the price. Not cheap, but the hardware quality and reliability justify it if the budget stretches.
