**Q: Will this work with SD 8mm**
A: Hi this is to splice super 8 cine film together, not sure what sd8 is but if it's 8mm video tape then no this type of splice tape won't work.

**Q: Will this  item work for 8mm splicing also?**
A: No it's only for use with super 8mm. I managed to find something similar for standard 8mm on ebay. Be aware, bit fiddly to align sprockets without a splicer.

**Q: Do you really need the splicer as well to use these strips? I have a very old cement splicer if that's all it does to hold film steady**
A: The answer is "Yes". Splicing tape cannot be used with a cement splicer.
