Review: Extraordinary product - I used this to re-plate the brass base of a trophy where some of the original silver had been stripped away while removing an old engraving. I was deeply skeptical that there was an alternative to electroplating, and assumed this would be a scam product I would have to return. I was amazed that it worked perfectly and very easily, producing a shiny silver surface in seconds. As described, the product initially blackens, and then the silver adheres to the metal as you keep rubbing. It is kind of miraculous. Shake the bottle well before use, I think the silver is in suspension somehow, and definitely wear gloves.

However, was not sure about the effect so tried it on a brass-plated server first. After a lot of elbow grease and using abt. 1/3rd of the bottle, nothing had happened, also not on a brass sugar spoon, very disappointing! Then decided to put some of the solution on and old copper penny, and that worked! Felt more confident to use it on my candlesticks then, but tried the bobeche first, which came up very nicely. Worked my way round both candlesticks and they look absolutely beautiful again. Very pleased with the result, so a big thank you to Nushine!! First pic shows the original colour, 2nd pic is half the foot done, 3rd pic is after treating it completely. They are ready for next Christmas! Tip off to prevent over-polishing silver/plate items: if you don't use your plated silver/silver much, after cleaning/polishing then put items in a zip bag, push the air out and close the bag. Items will not turn black for a long time and is ready for use. That's what I do with my candlesticks.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it work on the tarnished metal panel on a wooden grave marker cross?**
A: The label says: …adds pure silver to your worn silver plate and hard base metal such as brass, copper, nickel and bronze by molecular plating. It will not be effective on soft base metals. So it depends what metal it is you want to polish.

**Q: Can this be used on worn serving spoons, that will be used for food?**
A: I have used this on a large serving spoon and items of jewellery but to be honest, it just doesn't do the job! Even on rings, wear it once after use and then it's back to square one. I'm going to look out for other products.

**Q: Would this work on tarnished shower mixer tap?**
A: I suppose it depends what the taps are plated with, chromium or silver? This product is to get a ‘new shine’ on silver plating that has more than likely been rubbed away. It certainly works on silver plating, but maybe not so effective on chrome that was plated onto brass.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, Silver plating over copper/ brass handmade pendant

I made a reticulated heart pendant but at the final stage my pickling mix got contaminated and it turned brass from copper, so I thought I'd try this to silver plate it. I only really gave it one coat but it looks amazing now, it went from mottled coppery brass to shiny silver. Picture doesn't really show that well but all good, I just need to try and get in the crevices for a really good cover.
