As an ironworker, I’ve had to have a few washers welded onto my belt which definitely compromises the way the steel rods in the handle and the rubber hold. That being said this is still the best sledge I’ve used. My handle near the head has cracked (I would assume largely due to the heat of the welding screwing the rubber up) and a few hairline cracks mid way. Also if you’re wondering if a 4 lb hammer is too light for ironwork, it’s not. Talking to other guys on my crew, everyone agrees it feels as heavy as a 6lb (probably the steel pins and heavy rubber handle) and it has great balance. Great for tight places too. It is a good little sledge hammer, but not heavy enough to really break thick bottles.
